What actually happens when your court gets resurfaced
Seven steps, in order — so you know what you're paying for and what to expect on each day crews are on your court.
A quality resurfacing is mostly preparation. The color coats everyone pictures are the last third of the job — the repair and leveling work underneath them is what determines whether the surface lasts its full cycle.
- 01
On-site assessment
We walk the court, map every crack and low spot, check how water drains, and confirm the base is sound enough to resurface. This visit is free and decides everything that follows.
- 02
Quote and scheduling
You get a written quote for the exact scope — repairs, coats, colors, and striping. Acrylic coatings are weather-dependent, so scheduling targets a dry window with suitable temperatures.
- 03
Surface preparation
The court is cleaned and pressure-washed, loose material is removed, and any mildew or contaminants are treated so the new system bonds to a sound surface.
- 04
Crack repair and leveling
Cracks are filled or membraned, and low spots (birdbaths) are floated level with acrylic patch binder — the step that separates a lasting job from a quick recolor.
- 05
Resurfacer coats
Acrylic resurfacer re-establishes a uniform, sound foundation across the whole court and evens out surface texture before any color goes down.
- 06
Color coats
Multiple coats of textured acrylic color build the playing surface. Texture is tuned to the sport — enough grip for hard cuts, smooth enough for a true bounce.
- 07
Line striping and cure
Playing lines are masked and striped to regulation dimensions, then the court cures before play resumes. Cure time depends on temperature and humidity, so we confirm it per project.
